Work-load for the new year
- It is good to be busy, but George, Jessica and Simon are particularly busy right now with Child Sponsorship, accounting and preparing for a new financial year with new software.
The effect of the recession
We are facing a number of challenges. Please pray.
- Although regular support by Bankers order is holding up, we have noticed a distinct drop in giving by cheque.
- The value of the pound remains comparatively low against most currencies meaning that our overseas partners get less in their currencies.
- VAT (which we cannot reclaim as a charity) is increasing to 20% in January 2011.
- The transitional relief on Giftaid comes to an end in March 2011, meaning that our Giftaid refund from the government will reduce by 12%
George, Simon and Jessica's trip to Russia
- George Dowdell with Simon and Jessica Hannington had a great time travelling to Russia to visit Paula's work.
- The project is the Living Waters Healing Centre which provides trauma counselling.
- They travelled out on Tuesday 9th of November and returned on Sunday 14th.
New Beginnings Children's Home
- PRAISE GOD for the response so far. Full funding is ensured for 2010 and at least till March 2011, but please pray for funding in 2011.
- Please pray for the Kingscare team as they seek to raise money for this worthwhile cause.
- Please pray for Paulin and Luli that they will have wisdom and favour with local people as they seek to find local funding sources for the New Beginnings Children's Home to meet the deficit.
Our Overseas Partners
The Recession
- Charities are suffering because of the recession. Our committed income is up but one off donations had reduced. Please pray that we will find new sources of income to meet the great demands that are upon us.
Jessica and her personal development
- Jessica our "administrator" has started a Masters degree in developmental studies. Please pray for her as she studies part-time as well as working for Kingscare.
Children's fund
- For our "children's fund" and the mail shot that has just gone out to 2000 people. Please pray for a fruitful response.
For more sponsors
- Please pray that we find more sponsors. We currently have 34 children and young people that do not have sponsors. We are struggling to provide for these children. There are many more in a queue that we would like to sponsor also!
Street Kids, Delhi
- Please pray for the thousands of street children in Delhi, India. That those touched by the project run by Sanjiv at the New Generation Church will have their lives changed both spiritually and by the opportunities for education.
Mobile Clinic, Sri Lanka
- Please pray for the doctor and nurses who meet the health needs of those who are too poor to access help from elsewhere.
Pastor Artur's family in Dagestan
- Please pray for Artur's family after he was shot down as a martyr.
- Remember also Paula O'Keefe who knew him well.
Margarita in Peru
- Please pray for Margarita in Huanuco, Peru and for her helpers as they work amongst under-privileged children.
- Please pray for the children who were a part of the 'Children with Hope' Children's Home who have now been resettled with relatives with the support of Margarita and Kingscare. Pray that they will receive not only financial help for their schooling etc but may know much love.
Kingscare Team and Trustees
- Please pray for the Kingscare team and for the trustees as they plan for the future and consider possible radical alternatives for the name of the charity, the logo and strap line. (Any ideas?)

system. Administration is boring but important to enable us to better serve
our supporters and our overseas partners.
