Dear Supporter Having got back from a short time at the New Beginnings Children's Home, I found myself in a place where I was heart broken and wanting to help in any way I could, asking how we go about meeting the needs of the children. After spending time with Paulin I see exactly why we must meet the need of these children and why he hasn't walked away, even in the light of some extreme difficulties. He's a man with real integrity and the father's heart for his children, even with the needs always prevalent on Paulin's heart. The children are so amazing, when I arrived I sat down on the steps outside and instantly Eda greeted me, in Albanian, and then proceeded to played with my hair. This was an indication that her experience of life is now totally different, compared with what could have been, had she of stayed with her mother or her father, perhaps sold for a hand full of money. It was little experiences like this that occurred time and time again over 5 the days that are a testimony to Gods hand on the lives of each of the children, and a testimony to the hard work of Paulin, Luli and the team. While talking with Paulin, he told me that these kid's have be saved from possible prostitution or a lifetime of abuse at the hand of there parents, even when they lived with their parents some suffered horrific conditions and the place they now call home is, in Paulin's words, "like heaven to them". These kid's are not underprivileged children at the moment, but without the right resources' this could change very quickly, they could go back to their parents with out the correct resources available to them. Thanks to Gods faithful provision and Paulin's shear determination they are still able to work to give the kid's a chance of a different life, a chance of a better life.
Though there is great lack within the children's home there is also a great sense of provision and hope. Working in this environment you can only have faith, when prayerfully considering every penny spent. Can you imagine living like that? Is it not our responsibility as followers of Christ to feed the hungry, to give to those in need, share our home with the homeless? When we see someone with lack and we have abundance what is our response? I'll leave you with the words of Jesus "Take heed and beware of covetousness, for one's life does not consist of the abundance of the things he possesses." Luke 12: 15 (NKJV) Sincerley Simon Hannington
