Simple. See the JustGiving page for more ideas.

coffeeArrange a "coffee morning"

Why not invite your friends to share a coffee with you. You could distribute some leaflets, get someone to give a short talk on one of the projects which is dear to your heart, and hopefully collect some donations.

jewelryHold a "Jewellery Party"

We have a selection of Jewellery, made in Sri Lanka by one of our projects. These are for sale at a reasonable price. The project in Sri Lanka, the Morning Star School will benefit from the proceeds. Please contact us the details.

Why not get rid of a load of old junk and at the same time benefit the Kingscare project? If the goods are your own, and you donate the proceeds, it can count his gift aid! However if you advertise the stall as "in aid of charity" then you are fundraising on behalf of the charity and cannot gift aid the proceeds.

Take part in a sponsored event

runnerFor example a run, walk, swim etc. This may be an event you organise yourself, and get other people involved as well, or an event organised by somebody else where you are free to donate all the proceeds to Kingscare.

We recommend JustGiving, which makes it easy. If you want to collect cash yourself, and to enable us to collect gift aid making the sponsorship 25% more effective, you can Download a sponsorship-gift-aid form.

Gift-Aid

GiftaiditGift aid cannot always be claimed on fund-raising income, because the givers may have received some benefit from their contribution and there are multiple donors.

  • If people make give you money instead of a birthday present for example. You can the donate the total amount to Kingscare and it will count as a gift-aided donation from you.
  • If you simply collect donations at say a coffee morning, and you donate the cost of the coffee, then you could get givers to sign gift aid declarations and send them to us.
  • If you take part in a sponsored run, walk, swim etc, then we have a special sponsorship form available allowing the sponsors to tick a box if gift aid could apply.

Cost of fund-raising

If you are involved in fundraising "on behalf of Kingscare" or "in aid of charity" and incur some costs, then:

  • If you donate the costs of sale, for example the cost of refreshments, then that is fine. Simply send the total income to Kingscare.
  • If there are some costs which you wish to deduct from the amounts received, then you need to tell us, the total income and the total costs (which should be reasonable). In this situation you should not advertise the fundraising as "all proceeds to Kingscare", but you could say, "all profits to Kingscare".
