Kingscare - God's Love in Action

Delhi to Ladakh  ▬  "The long way up"

They are all now home safely

In August this year a group of us who want to raise support for New Generations Street Kids’ program in Delhi on behalf of Kingscare, will be travelling from Delhi to Ladakh.

Our journey will take us from the streets of Delhi to the off-road mountain tracks in Ladakh and will all be accomplished on 'Royal Enfields'. These are the same models which they have been building in India for 40 years. The route takes us through over 2000 km of Himalayan mountain 'roads' to our destination at 18,500 ft.

This will be ten days of tough riding for driver and pillion passenger (yes pillion!), with some of the most challenging conditions for these bikes and their riders, as they seek to raise as much money as they can for the support of ‘Street Kids’.

The team will start their journey from Delhi in the Monsoon Season with its heavy rains, to Ladakh where it will be bitterly cold and then start the return journey. Jeff will drive our support vehicle with clothing, sleeping bags, fuel, water and spares. It's a ten day drive that that will take us from the fast roads of Delhi to the broken roads of the Himalayan Mountains, across all types of terrains, from lush farm land to mountain desserts.

The ride will support the educating of children, who either live on the streets or in the slums of Southern Delhi. This is a work of the New Generation Church in Delhi, whose pastor, Sanjiv will also be riding one of the Enfields.

We invite you to sponsor one of these brave riders!

Note that sponsorship is for the trip, not per mile

Thanks for your love and support.

Target achieved (26th August) £4100 - but it's not too late to sponsor. (Target was £3000)

All money raised goes directly to the 'Street Kids' project - the British riders will be paying all of their own costs.
