Dear Supporter While on a visit to Sri Lanka, it became more apparent to me that the "credit crunch" isn't just affecting the UK. Due to a global economy we have a global crisis. This means that if your money is not going as far at your local supermarket, the same goes for the rest of the world. We have been doing some vital analysis of exchange rates in the respective countries where we have projects in, and have noticed a general drop in the strength of the pound, by around 25%. This means that the money you send is only worth 75% of its value a year ago. This means real hardship for real people. The falling value of the pound against the dollar  We aim to send even more money in sterling, but need more income to handle the falling exchange rates. With this in mind, we are giving you, our faithful supporters, the opportunity to help in this time of recession. By raising your monthly support by 25% (or whatever you can afford) you can help meet the same needs that we always met. This doesn't need to be permanent. However, something has to be done! Our aim is to continue to meet the needs of the poor, but with the rising cost of living globally and the reduction to the strength of the pound, we are finding it difficult to meet the needs we have met in the past. Please do not feel under pressure to give more. Your existing support is very much appreciated, especially in the current economic climate. We understand that we are all affected by the financial situations our world is facing, but with your support we can still help those less fortunate than us. We are opening a new fund, "Sowing in a time of recession". Sowing is a biblical principle, and money given sacrificially will result in blessing to the giver and the recipient! The aim is to be able to help for a specific time of at least two years. We invite you to invest with us for a limited period, to meet the needs of projects around the world in the current situation. Alternatively, you might like to add to your support of a project particularly dear to your heart. We would especially appreciate committed regular income, though you may prefer to give as you are inspired. Thank you in anticipation.
