Paula Newsletter - June 2009

Dear Supporter

It's been a long time since I last wrote to you. Lots of good things have happened in the past 5 months, so I will try to be brief in relating the essence of what we've been up to.

I'm really happy to share that while I was away from Russia for 3 months, the team thrived without me.   They managed to do Oases, 24/7 prayer, to keep the centre running, and do mission trips to a number of places including Krygystan. See the picture of the team there. This was a real encouragement for me as a leader, that my team could manage quite well without me! One Oasis they had was for people from Tshinvali, the capital of Southern Ossetia who had suffered in the war last August between Russia and Georgia. When the team were in Tshinvali, an alcoholic Sasha collapsed during their meeting and was rushed to hospital. His heart stopped. After praying for him for many hours God healed him and set him free from his alcoholism. See the picture from Tshivali with Sasha at the front on the right.

The Lord has used the visa law to expand our horizons. We are quite excited as God is opening doors for us to go to Israel in the summer; we are praying about starting a similar base there on the Galilee. The Lord has been speaking to me about Israel for a number of years. Israel has a lot of people that are severely traumatized that need God's healing, many of them being Russian speakers. It is also a strategic place to do 24/7 prayer and also geographically a great place to have an Antioch base for training and sending out missionaries to the Muslim countries surrounding Israel. It would also serve as a second home for us, western missionaries when we can't be in Russia, as it's very difficult to be constantly travelling in our 3 months out of Russia. Please pray with us about this vision, and if you have any resources, contacts or words from the Lord you would like to share with us, that would be great.

I spent 2 months of my time out of Russia travelling round the USA speaking in various churches and house groups. I had 3 others with me on my team: mum, Connie and Alena, one of our Russian missionaries who finished our first missions school and has been on the team since then. We drove round 13 states. See picture of Alena trying to play her guitar in cramped conditions! The Lord moved in power and many people were emotionally and physically healing as well as fired up with new vision and passion to serve the Lord. Many wept as they gave pain, trauma and shame to the Lord. One grandmother in her 90s from Texas who hadn't danced for years got filled with joy and started to dance.

One of Connie's friends in Virginia we prayed for had had such severe back and neck pain that she hadn't been able to sleep in a bed for a long time. She was completely healed and slept in her own bed without pain for the first time in years. As Alena sang in Russian over a woman in Florida with severe back and neck pain she was instantly healed and beaming with joy. One dear sister in Florida was visibly transformed as we prayed over her; she said she had thought she was going mad and had been waiting all her life to hear the words we prophesied over her which set her free and released her to fulfill her destiny. The day before Mum was to leave the USA, she realised she had lost her diary; she searched everywhere for it before she remembered she had left it behind in another city. It was too late to send by post and it contained all her personal information. God gave us real faith to believe for a miracle of translation. After we prayed and asked the Lord to translate it, she went and looked again and there it was on the top of her suitcase, God had done a miracle!

Mum and I had the privilege of visiting the Healing Rooms in Spokane, as we are hoping to set up Healing Rooms here in the centre of Armavir; we did their training course, saw how they operated, prayed together with the team there, and were personally prayed for by the Founder Cal Pierce. One unexpected divine appointment the Lord had for us was at my friend Sue's who I met in Israel. She kindly arranged an evening for me to share about the work with a group of leaders including John Sandford, the Founder of Elijah House. To my complete surprise John ministered to me at the end of the meeting!

We also visited family, spending time with my cousin Gina who is battling a brain tumor. She is having her next treatment, cyber-knife surgery on the 2nd to the 4th June. Doctors say it is risky as she had the maximum amount of radiation last time she had a brain tumor. But we are still believing for complete healing and salvation for her and the whole family.  During my time out of Russia, I had planned on finishing my autobiography, but due to my cousin's illness and other factors I was unable to finish it, although I am about two thirds of the way through it.

Since being back in Russia we have had a couple of mini Oases with many people being touched by the love of God and both physical and emotional healing as well as a number of salvations. We have had  seasons of 24/7 prayer and fasting where the Lord has been transforming us and filling us. God is taking us to new heights, causing us to fall deeper in love with him and to really enjoy the beauty of his holiness. He has put into me such a hunger for him and more of a desire to worship him than I have ever had before, so both individually and corporately we are spending more time than ever worshipping him.

We are at present preparing for our 3rd Holy Given Missions School here at Living Waters starting on the 8th June until the 17th July. We have been under attack in health and finances and would appreciate your prayers. I myself have been battling bronchitis, please pray for health and strength to lead the school. We are very excited to see what God will do in transforming lives. We have students coming from all over Russia and also from Krygystan and Holland. At the end of the school there will be various missions trips, one of them will be by land to Israel. We will be leaving on the 19th July. My daughter Nastya graduated from High School last weekend which was a real blessing; it's hard to believe my baby is so grown up so quickly, doesn't time fly! See the picture.

Thanks once again for your prayers and support, I really appreciate you guys,

Love and hugs,
Paula xxx
