Hello Supporter Namaste (greetings) to you all from Kolkata (Calcutta). We are now 3 weeks into our India/Nepal trip and having a great time. Firstly we were in Delhi for a few days and got to meet up with Ukrainian missionaries as well as ministering to 50 pastors from Orissa, the State in North India where many Christians have been killed in the last few months and churches burned. We left Nepal yesterday after having an amazing time and took the train for Dharamsala. When we woke up this morning we were in Kolkata. The people selling us the tickets had sold us tickets to the wrong place! So we have an unexpected week here in Kolkata before going to Dharamsala next week instead. Nepal is a delightful country, both the people and the countryside are so beautiful, we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves there. In Kathmandu we got to minister in two different churches as well as in an orphanage. Many women and girls wept in our arms as God healed them. One little orphan was healed of tonsilitis as well as a broken heart as she wept in our arms and had a vision of Jesus on a white horse. One elderly lady said that she slept well for the first time in years after we prayed for her. Many were delivered of unclean spirits associated with precious idol worship. Many people had visions of Jesus and of heaven as we prayed over them. After we left the orphanage the kids were so excited and filled with the Spirit that they were up praying until 11.30pm! We especially enjoyed ourselves in the remote village in the mountains. We travelled from Kathmandu 12 hours by bus to get to the nearest town to the village, where we stayed the night. The next morning we were just starting our 8 hour walk up the mountain to get to the village, when we were charged by a water buffalo bull which pinned mum up against a wall by its horns. The whole village came out to see and watched us praying for mum and saw how Jesus took away the pain. Mum was able to walk up the hill and it was a real testimony. When we arrived in the village we were greeted by the Lama (Buddhist priest)'s family who fed us with potatoes and buttermilk. We had a lovely week in an amazingly beautiful place ministering to precious people who were so grateful we had come. Hardly anyone comes to their village. Every day we enjoyed the hospitality and fellowship of these simple people as we sat on the floor with them in their little mud huts sharing our lives together as we enjoyed humble meals of rice, vegetables and buttermilk. We had meetings every night and prayed for many for healing and deliverance. One 14 year old boy, whose father is a strong Buddhist and doesn't like him coming to the meetings, fell over under the power of the spirit without anyone praying for him, and then started vomiting and was delivered of tormenting spirits. People walked through the mountains for hours to come to the weekly church meeting which we had on the Saturday and the presence of God was really strong as he touched people. God is really answering your prayers for us and although others in our house have had diarrhea and vomiting, all our team have been pretty healthy. Please continue to pray fror our health especially for Hanny's back which is very sore, and for Varya who is suffering with the change in climate and food. We have had quite a few dangerous moments but the Lord has delivered us from them all. These have included amongst other things a bus and a car crash in the mountains, Connie being hit by a motorbike, driving and walking through paths that had disappeared because of recent landslides, being surrounded by a crowd of strikers with red flags, pulling off ticks and leeches from Donna and Hanny. Please pray also for our finances as we have had lots of attacks on our finances. Mum has had all her money stolen out of her bank by credit card fraud, the team in Russia has had no money for a month because the bank won't release them our money, and we had to spend $600 extra dollars paying for visas twice on this trip because of mistakes. The team and family are doing well in Russia. Today Mon 3rd they started a week long missionary camp for children in the centre, with 45 children from various places. Pray for an amazing week of open heaven, changed and fired up lives and for the leaders of the centre, Larisa, Zhenya and Sergei for strength, anointing, wisdom and protection. Pray especially for favour with the local authorities. Unfortunately my daughter Anya didn't get her visa for Germany, when she went to pick it up instead they gave her passport back with a refusal stamp. She was very disappointed, but has gone home to Armavir and has a job working as a cleaning lady in the kindergarten where Lera worked last year. Please pray for her at this time. Lots of love from Mother Theresa's beloved Kolkata, where we will spend the week ministering to the poor alongside the Missionaries of Charity and others here, Paula xxx |
