Beslan - Trauma Counselling

You must have watched with horror the images on your television set relayed from Russia when terrorists took over the school in Beslan, and eventually up to 500 people were killed in this tragedy.

Paula O'Keefe, has already made a number of trips to Beslan. There is a need for an ongoing programme of counselling and practical help for the people of this town and Paula intends to continue her visits to bring counsel, comfort and aid.

Paula says, "The atmosphere in Beslan is one of despair, grief and deep depression. With my team of 12 people from our centre, we were able to bring a measure of God's love and comfort to approximately 50 families, mostly from the Baptist church. The trauma of such a terrible tragedy will take years for a small community like Beslan to recover from, and we want to continue to support these families we have come to love."

We need to raise about £25,000 for an ongoing programme. However, Paula is committed to continue the work with whatever resources are available. Please help us to help these very needy people!
